NO one could explain the so called NUBS to be found on the rocks across the globe on a scale where more and more became exposed. 
There were some crazy theories and some far more insane than others. Ai? NO.
Not even that could deliver the truth> For good reason.
The origins of such structures belonged to a past that had seen at least
THREE EXTINCTION EVENTS.
The surface of the planet terraformed on such a massive level as to completely change the topical let alone geographical appearance.
Plates had shifted, volcanic and other anomalies?
Including water levels, methane, acidity dominated the globe. Ferns grew across the planet as the topical foliage..
Crustaceans took over beneath the oceans.. animals above ceased to exist for at least another tens of thousands almost a MILLION.. years.
HUMAN(a) did NOT reform for almost the same epoch. Lost to TIME. So what WERE those NUBS?
Perhaps Xixu has the answer were we able to travel back in TIME..

I suppose the MORSE CODE would be an example as nothing at all to do with their representation BUT,
it does illustrate HOW the stupid PRIMITIVES failed to understand their relevance?
The area was prone to EARTHQUAKES with shifting terrain that required careful planning; constructs.
The Kets (Children) had been playing with rocks of different sizes..
Just as ours might have bricks et to build though sand castles where the weather, wind could be good bad or indifferent might be more a truth.
Leaving their ‘toy’ constructs they had ventured into safer areas to fall asleep, darkness the ground shaking and ? Next ‘morning’ they ventured out expecting their toy constructs to be ?
STILL INTACT.. different sizes stacked up, irregularly stacked surprised them. Adults looking on some had taken a closer look. SOME had reasoned a logical conclusion and WHY earlier constructs by them had failed?
NOW they built much larger SAMPLE ‘walls’ ; IRREGULAR formations .. looked absurd... then another huge shaking of the ground.. they looked on from a place.
IT was noted that they had to to record exactly what happened.
Vibrations, shaking, the movement.. rising a ripple across the stones.. then a settling back to where NONE had shifted out of place.
NUBS.. a good way to show off the original builders tag.. eventually converted to carry a language.. far more than the original ‘tag’..
The all seeing ones.. noted the successes.. added it to their collective knowledge and spread it across the planet.. a means to stabilise a structure in a highly volatile ‘EARTHQUAKE’ zone..
