The off world colony that Human(a) occupied in the Signus Alpha Galaxy was the first time they had found a planet that suited their requirements perfectly.
The native inhabitants were of no real significance. The moment the Human(a) arrived they vanished into the ether.
Timid, weak and though enslavement was NOT on the Human(a) minds the main settlement and establishment of the necessary systems re some protection mostly ignored and limited due to the accepted almost zero resistance.
Structures for living and other including of course communication systems allowing those they used as scouts to venture out and record what they encountered saved of course to the data archives to be analysed and given categories.
The scouts were armed but only light weapons. Most of the planet well the part they were on was rich fertile grassland with some trees but mostly open ground and had flowing water.
Testing and other necessities to ensure there would be no biological hazards, poisons, predators beit insects, animals and so the list goes on.
ALL checked, analysed and recorded to give a final score.
It was good. that meant they could now establish camp and the main encampment before spreading out into smaller communal settlements.
Dusk was fast approaching,. daylight was about 14 hours before it started to go darker the two suns fading into nothing. NO MOONS, NO MOONLIGHT
Pitch black and for some eerie was at least compensated for by the lighting the laser phased lighting illuminating the area. Bright not blinding but at the right level as to be comfortable on the retinas.
Meals, food, provisions and fluids concluded the younger ones were settled into one specific area.. Secured, protected and monitored
by a GOK sentient lifeform. NO brain as such, just a robotic basic command droid.
The adults were busy attending to their tasks the ones they had been allocated from the off. Planning the added structures the construction crews and those who were in charge of the robotics.
Altogether the day had been good.. The main colony transporter was being unloaded with the cargo distributed to those who needed it to unpack for the needs of those involved with the next day.. hmm
Later in the day after this darkness had gone.. how long that would be they were unsure of. Their arrival had timed only the daylight they ahd encountered on landing.
NOTHING was known about the planet other than a survey scout ship that had carried out a basic over view using drones and sophisticated scanning equipment.
IT was certain habitable, the air mix was very acceptable.. and the overall features the ecology and what it had to offer would only be truly known once they had landed colonists.
The scouts were robotics controlled by Human(a) who used them to stay safe secure and recording data with some ease.
NOTHING serious to report. The inhabitants were still no where to be seen.
True they had on landing open the main hatches to see curious onlookers those who looked almost the same re their form.. anatomy, physiology well unsure..
Looks could be deceiving and one thing colonists accepted as gospel was to be CAREFUL very VIGILANT.
Scanners, monitoring systems gave some reassurance detecting anything untoward including land based but also airborne whatever..
Whatever being a strong possibility as they did noit know of the WHAT ever is out there. .
Finally the bulk of the would be colonists settled down to rest.
Next to the young ones.. though separated instant reclines almost automatically installed now became occupied with some sighs of relief.
For the natives the ones who has seen their arrival.. the ones who had vanished into the ether.. Into areas below ground in areas that had been built to hold them safe, secure and undetectable..
Ah yes. undetectable.. to what one might ask.. above them the craft circled, scanning scanning and then it dropped from the heavens..
