The early hours of the following day everyone was fast asleep, they did not hear the soft swish of wings in flight.
The queen gazed around at the site then at the craft. It was impressive!

She remembered the first time she had encountered another from beyond the stars. Tolgani a star traveler from across the systems had wandered into the galaxy only to land on their world, yet he was she sensed, different from these.

There was a distinctly bad aura about this. Were these the one’s Tolgani had warned her about? She also knew the others would know all too soon of the their landing, she had begged Tolgani not to tell anyone of their world?

Had he broken his word to her? Her race were curious beings, not used to strangers from the stars and yes they used to worship the stars, until Tolgani came and opened up the knowledge of other worlds, sharing with them, the stories the tales of other races.

Yet he had made it clear, some were hostile, some were out to expand their empires and not kind about it, if others got in their way. They enslaved them or simply eliminated them, how they did that was of little consideration in comparison to achieving their purpose.

The Cflen, were not warlike, nor possessed weapons. What need did they have, of such things? Within a world of beauty, of endless resources, to sustain life.

Her own peoples had a structured viably sound democratic as we would call it assembly, that voted on issues in every day life. Cflenia, was the size of our moon. One main continent the rest was water.True it had two suns, but they, were dying stars, so heat wise, radiation risks nominal.

It would be several thousands of years before the suns would expire even if they knew nothing of this originally, Tolgani had enlightened them, it had made them feel relieved. So what else can be said of the Cflen? They did not have technology as such, no idea on building space ships or communication devices or security devices.

Only what Tolgani had taught them, shown them with the device, he had left them. A kind of database of information he had gleaned from his travels on races, planets and a whole lot more. A catalog of devices and that included weapons but only for information purposes.

It, did NOT tell them, how to build or use the weapons. They could use the data to tell them if the race had weapons.
If so it could only mean two things. For defence or as hostiles to use them for attack purposes. She had spent a lot of time reading the data, daily learning, in case the time should ever come when strangers arrived.

Taken some of her most closest family and taught them to be aware, to be careful to UNDERSTAND. From that the knowledge that would protect their people. Looking around her she could see weapons, she could see devices of destruction! Why did she have this sense of fear, of apprehension? What if they attacked her people?

They could not stop them. They could fly, had wings. These beings did not. That could be an advantage when fleeing from them should they need to. She wondered if meeting Tolgani had been a message from the Gods on what to expect to warn her of what was to come or just a curse?

Natayia came close to her. “I thought I should tell you, the moment we came upon them, I sensed they are not aware of our existence..“ Caiyea looked at her, “How do you know this?” “We were very careful, not to make ourselves known.
At no time when we were watching them did they react to our presence close to them.”

“Come it is time we left the suns will soon be rising and they will be stirring! We need to rest then I need to call an assembly.” It was then one of the sensors detected Natayia as it flooded the area with light they flitted up then flew off. Into the forest beyond. Inside the chamber, Lakir was awoken by the sound of the alarm unit triggering. He rubbed his eyes stared at the clock, cursing.

Still groaning his lot at being the one who had to replace Dahaan in the control room. He stirred himself into action as he grabbed his clothing and slid into it the unit fastened itself around him and he pulled on his boots to walk towards the main hatch.

Peering out he could see nothing as now the sensor reset itself plunging the area into pitch blackness. "Probably dust or similar kicked up by this breeze." He mutters as he heads towards the main control area. Rain?! A few drips that turned into a downpour, lasting some fifteen minutes before it dies away. The ground soaked, producing a mud caked almost sludge like surface.

Whatever that sludge was, it produced a lot of plants and other foliage that was strong and vibrant in colours, close to our greens, but tinted with a purple colored stripe. “Its variegated plant life.“ Joden had been taking samples. “Oh and its not edible.

Well this lot anyway, but colourful and it seems to contain some pigment that is a dioenzymic mobellaise.” In simple terms it excreted an enzyme which when you touched it, stained your skin! He was unsure if that was all it did and warned against anyone coming into contact with the vegetation unless you were wearing suitable protective gear.

Suki knew why he was taking such time to warn them. They had produced a plant that excreted a toxin. Marking your skin appeared all it did until the weals on your skin started to form. Killing you in hours. Absorption was a pretty good way to take medication. It could also therefore be used for all the wrong reasons.

They had found foods and fruit of sorts, different shapes, that tested SAFE to eat. Compatible with their digestive systems, OK the colors were different to what they had been used to but the bio organic makeup genetically was extremely close to our own fruit and vegetables. Even the flavors and textures, were very similar.

Checking them with the diagnostic equipment showed excellent levels of proteins, carbohydrates and vitamins including rich in B and C! Today he volunteered Lumor and Caley into taking a trip out to view the area, for about five miles round the site.
To see what they could find?

Was there life other than plant life? It was accepted in principle, there must be. This was a big continent, judging by the mapping even if it was the only one on the planet! About half the size of the USA. Yes it had flat lands, forest and mountains. Information gleaned from the Sat mapping.

Other resources according to geological 'topical' analysis indicated high levels of minerals, metals and stones equivalent to diamonds to be found. The gold was an essential. It helped to maintain coms systems, integral parts of the crafts build. Uranium ore was found. Chromite and Magnesium plus a sedementary layer of some miles in length and according to the scans several metres deep of clay.

It was not early in the morning, the suns had come up over the horizon before anyone stepped outside the sleeping module.
“I haven’t.“ Admitted Lumor. “Had such a peaceful sleep in a long time, must be the atmosphere here its quite relaxing.” Caley moved past him towards Lakir as Lumor smiled at her. “You two, I hear are taking a trip out this afternnon?“ Lakir looked back then at Caley.
