In the far reaches of space not more than fifty earth miles from Cflenia the Cflen home world a force gathered. Its battle hardened commanders, bought and paid for by the Su Ran Corporation and they were about to strike.
The forces swept into Cflenia in the early hours of that morning, before the sun had risen across the Galacia Federa Judiciary. Before the two suns had risen on Cflenia and Ljne had stepped onto the Cflen cruiser to take her to meet up with Ariel.
The planet was NOT deserted. It had nor been left unprotected. From the first construction of the main factories as we would know them, churning out materials, Regens, battle craft and weapons plus all of the essential necessities to sustain them beyond Cflenia. The production continued albeit at a level way below the original outputs.
From the mountains and the forests beyond them. Cflen who had been genetically changed, disfigured still existed, still had to be taken care of, looked after. Those who were beyond help had long ago, taken leave of Cflenia. Sent to the peace beyond. For those who survived the culling?
Nadisa, was one of the young Cflen left behind, her task had been to look after a small detachment of mature Cflen, considered too old to go with the others into space and beyond? Whose duties included, looking after the ill, the infirm the elderly Cflen. The settlements had been well established. Harnessed technologies, allowed her the best in medical care and facilities.
A lot of attention had been put to providing special places for the young Cflen. To ensure they, would have a much happier childhood, than the Cflen previous. One without intimidation, fear?
It was a peaceful and quiet time. The Fodawke bred as pets with rich nutrients from their egg sacs. Rich harvests and abundant crops.
What need for military? There was NO enemy! None of the hated BEAST. Thus Regen Gladiators were present but small in number, almost insignificant.
Should there be a threat? There were Regen tanks with special Regen Gladiators in stasis. Over two thousand of them.
The power systems flickered maintaining their stasis chambers as the seasons came and went, they stayed in stasis.
A powerful and not to be regarded as anything but, potent force; in the event of them being deployed.
The new settlements built well away from the original manufacturing plants, had seen a small detachment of Regen Cflen taken from the tanks and brought to life. There were other creatures other than the Fodawke, hunted for meat. Or slaughtered to cull them, keep the numbers down? Those who could ruin crops or could attack the Cflen workers.
Some of these creatures abominations created by the BEAST. 'Halflings' were part Cflen part Fodawke, part something else unspeakable. Hunted but it would seem, not to extinction. They hid themselves in places, the Cflen had not discovered. Remote mountain hideaways that allowed them to reproduced. Into their hundreds?
At a pace and a peace, which suited its inhabitants, although technology regularly checked, the areas around the settlements and the new sites, for the 'factories.' it no longer scanned or monitored, the original sites.
Nadisa was like EVERY Cflen, her upbringing had been within the teachings of the sacred Book of Geanne, she was taught to understand to KNOW that the past was what drove the Cflen forward, on their mission into space and beyond YET equally HER staying was just as important to the future of the Cflen?
Descended from the first seed of the Elite Cflen she had had descendants who had been tortured, maimed, murdered and experimented on by the BEAST? She was disappointed, NOT to have been taken with the main force leaving Cflenia BUT had accepted the role of, looking after, maintaining the settlement and in some instances delegating duties, re crop planting, harvesting and more. Including the education of and training of, younger Cflen.
One other role that had been part of her since her inception. For a number of years, of no real concern. Until now.
Taking her completely by surprise, in fact for some minutes she was almost in a state of shock, on her forehead a device activated. In front of her a screen activated. Holographic in form it displayed data. She stared at the screen, unable to move almost paralyzed. NOT with fear but in trepidation?

The screen cleared. A female appeared on screen. A Cflen Elite. First seed. A sister to her. "Nadisa! You have an emergency you must take care of. Cflenia is under attack! Enemy forces are invading to the south of you. I am now handing over to Cflen Gladiator Commander Xerfrai. Do as he instructs you!"
