There were also changes in the Pineal gland. Far more advanced, than the one the Human(a) had.
Spinal cord and the spinal fluid remained virtually unchanged. The skull was slightly smaller and less elongated than some of the Mermui species. However Merai also had smaller less elongated skull proportions.
Brain capacity, had always been far more advanced, than the more primitive Human(a).
The Orian ‘Pite’ did not work on them. Neural pathways, autonomy was different.
More aware of irregularities that could attack, affect their auto immune systems. Shut down anything their sensors detected as suspicious.

The genetically altered ones working in pairs could overturn a vessel and in some instances more of them could literally drag one into the icy depths.. COMPLETELY sink it. including all on board.
