According to Globesat, who had rushed a second observer sat, into the area. The flagship of the Jogarth was seen to judder, shudder, split, gouged open, spilling its contents, into the vastness of space, before totally disintegrating, into nothing, except debris. Cxan had tried to console Coleja, Becci had whispered to Margise “She died in battle. They regard that as dying with honor and the Jogarth will celebrate her passing..”
“I don’t think Coleja or Anora will be celebrating, even IF Anora is the next in line to take the Jogarth Empire as Empress Elite.” “Besise? I don’t thnk Anora should EVER trust her. Not from what I’ve heard, a real snake in the grass.” Margise had been right. The new Empress was Isabellani’s sister Besise? There would be no compromise, as she sought to subdue all resistance, to her taking the throne. Sending the Kets at the Akademy a message, to ensure they celebrated the honor, that tradition, accorded to the Empress Isabellani?
It would be a little while later, when the Kets were gathered together; for a special meeting called by La Toyah. To discuss the merits of using Globesat and other news devices she wanted to make it clear as Corky had already taken time to do, that rules applied and that they must be prepared for good and bad news but must accept they would not be leaving except in exceptional circumstances and that?
Where the Jogarth Kets were concerned had been made clear to them was NOT to be permitted. Princess Besise had informed them that she wanted the aftermath of her sisters death with the celebrations taking place, across the Jogarth worlds, to NOT include the Kets from the Akademy. Particularly Anora as heir to the throne. Some rebellion she had to put down, from those who wanted to challenge her right to accession before Anora could be released to assume her rightful place at the head of the Jogarth.
The truth? The last thing she wanted, was Isabellani’s Kets on the loose. Unknown to Anora, several of the commanders loyal to Isabellani AND it should be added equally to Anora. Had fled to rebuild their forces, ready to take on Besise and restore Anora to the throne should she attempt a take over bid. A coup in her absence. Van Ea, Anora & Besai, had met up. They were now sat together as they waited for the latest news.
The others were in the mood for celebrating but Coleja remained sombre; she was NOT going to join them let alone celebrate as she clung to Cxan. “So it seems, your right of accession has been challenged.” Van Ea was quite matter of fact, trying hard not to gloat. IF her mother Besise established the right to take the throne it would make HER next in line to it should Besise die!. “Why don’t you just say it Van?!“ It was Becci coming into the Ovir sitting down, her eyes on Anora to make sure she was OK. Not under threat from these two. Besai, she liked. Very similar in temperament to Anora. Mostly because she had no intentions of ever trying to take the throne! Delise and Margise followed her in.
“It would mean your status as next in line to the throne could be validated and means.” She paused. “You would be challenging Anora’s right to accession. Should Anora choose to treat that as hostile.” She went quiet, thinking quietly to herself but probably what a few other Kets were thinking. Poor Anora was hardly any threat in that scenario! “I’m sure Anora and I would come to some agreement, just like Empress Isabellani and my mother came to originally. TO share and not to cause civil war amongst our factions, weakening the Empire.”
Anora nodded, but secretly thankful that Besise was in charge. For now anyway. She was definitely NOT, up to taking it off her anytime soon! Fre and Illia were delighted. Fre had bought Illia a drink. As he put it, a celebratory drink. A toast to the memory of the Empress Isabellani and the greatness of the Jogarth Empire. A mutual kind of respect? Though Fre was not amused at the takeover bid by Besise.
“You do understand that there will NEVER be any agreement between us?” He glared at Illia who stared back, hardly any expression of concern, in response. “I WOULD ensure my sister, Anora, the RIGHTFUL heir to the throne took her place. ANYONE who interfered or tried to prevent that would suffer!“ “Nothing less than I would expect brother.” Illia scowled, his thoughts? ‘Not that, if I get my way, you will ever, be a threat in that direction. You have to get off the Akademy planet, alive first. As for that sister of yours, I will continue to bring about her demise almost as fast as I can yours.‘ Fre grinned, turned and walked off.
Fre muttered to himself. "As if I don’t know what you are thinking.” He pressed his hand against his cloak feeling the tube of liquid.."I hope you enjoyed your drink brother, I suspect in a few hours, you will not be feeling so arrogant."
Margise had excused herself after a call from Corky, busy sorting out the notes for the teams first briefing session, on the forthcoming few weeks and what they could expect. He had been asked, with Margise, to hand out the first challenges! She was getting flustered. “I’ve got the lists of them, together, but I need help I really don’t know what to do?” Corky reassured her then grabbed a ‘hoveron’ to take both of them over to the main citadel. The second floor Ovir, which had been sealed off for them to chill out!
Van Ea and Besai were arguing. They were not short on being nasty to each other! “55 seconds later “ Mutters Anora as the other two, stop, turn and glare at her.Ah the arrival of Fre. They grabbed him, Van Ea holding his arm. “Let Fre decide who should succeed Mama?”
