The Ket Simeron, he had held so gently, slid off the palm of his hand, to drop to the floor. It’s tiny wings fluttered as it stepped towards the figure of a much larger Simeron looking on? So that was how Arquin had become trapped? Unable to move? It talked? NO. It said nothing. The Ket up close to it unknown to him, being told off. A sub neural conversation in progress? The Older Simeron moved close to Arquin, the Ket in its arms resting.
Suddenly there was, in his head, a conversation, his thoughts being rifled through? What he desired most? What he was searching for? The Simeron placed his hand on Arquin’s head and paused. Seconds passed before he let go and moved off. The energy ring died away as Arquin saw them, vanish into the ether as though they had never existed. Stumbling back, incoherent? Seemingly drunk in appearance, he fell against the rock to slump at the bottom of it.
Zarac had been watching. He now moved to help Arquin. Passing him a flask of water? To sip at it, gulp it back and then relaxed, gradually regain his composure. Back to normal? Zarac spoke to him, not that for one moment did he think he would get a reply? Astonishingly Arquin answered him. In his own tongue? The Simeron in thanks, had gifted him the ability to talk their language. It had also given him the means to modify one of their language converters so others could talk to the Dragonja.
Within months a peace had been brokered. These invaders were not there to destroy the planet but to take some of the resources, ones that would not be missed by the Dragonja nor the Simeron ! As for the other race? They had not been seen for decades! Mutual respect meant that some of the Dragonja could help the miners, finding the minerals, locating ore and other resources much faster than they would have. PLUS passign on technology to the Dragonja that in turn could help them.
Communication systems, power systems and a lot more ! They discovered that the Dragonja had a love for some of the RENAIS or RETRO items. Finding such items amusing, entertaining and pro active. Sport between them to keep the miners preoccupied on their time off and FIT ! When the mining corporation left, they decided to gift the Dragonja and also Arquin. Some discussion ensued as to the penultimate gift. The Akademy!
To take Kets from across the galaxies and teach them, how to respect each others way of life, their culture, their creed and WHO they were! Not what they looked like ! Not how much wealth or armies they had at their call. How they could help each other. Share skills, adapt, improvise and overcome even the worst of situations. Nabiris As a youngling, he had been in those mines with fellow Dragonja. They played there, safe from the Kets who never came there. On the walls of some of the caves grew a plant. A semi narcotic plant that when eaten gave a most pleasing after glow to the Dragonja male!
Nabiris (see the Galacia Imperitannica for more detail.) was it’s name and it was rarely found anywhere except in the mines. To us Humana, it was like eating chocolate! A kind of ‘Dopamine’ neural enhancing effect. Though they were banned from eating it. Adolescent Dragonja, would, if they found it delight in having their own parties, where the plants leaves, were to be found and consumed by them, in all kinds of delicacies.
It would be discovered later that those Dragonja that did eat the plant, gained some extra skills in their abilities across everything from studying to learning and more. That created an evolution of sorts of the Dragonja. Far more intelligent and aware. Though keeping to themselves, they had no time for adolescent Kets! However this was an emergency and knowledge however gained is of some importance if the Kets that are in the mines are to be rescued.
The Dragonja now produce a drug used across the galaxies that is a NEURAL stimulating agent based on this plant. Grown by them in high tech installations within the Far Away Lands. It is shipped OFF Onica by them to the satellite where it is traded and carried off to other worlds. Kets at the Akademy are strictly forbidden to trade the plant OR consume its processed drug form UNLESS they have specific medical consent to overide that order ! Those caught disobeying can risk expulsion from the Akademy.
Dragonja will NEVER trade the drug to Kets, only to the Med control at the Akademy where it is dispensed in accordance with any Kets needs as originally deemed to be prescribed or required medical treatment.
