She looked at the others. “Read up on rules Kets, or those like Aifen will score merits off you. You could have had lost ten for having broken the rules." “I told you.“ Besai shook her head “What is it I hear all the time? ‘No one wants to read the rules’ They’re boring. Would have looked bad for us all and that includes Hoki if she had been ordered out.“ Cxan nodded. “She’s right, we’ll have to be more careful in future.“ Corky appeared in the hall, he moved past them, then stopped, to smile at Arianne.
“Just bringing them up to date on some rules.” He looked at them commenting on that being a sensible piece of advice that they should heed, though on reflection he was curious as to why at that moment in time it would be of concern. He glanced at them, looked at Hoki, smiled. Walked on, seeing Serenia waved to him from on the podium? Suddenly he stopped; walked back to them? His eyes rested on Hoki. The look on his face? Most of the Kets had that sense they were in trouble.

He turned, moved off muttering away to himself. “That lot, never cease to amaze me.“ "Phew! I thought we were in trouble! Heliera wiped her forehead. She sat back down, next to Hoki, reassuring her, If it was OK with Corky then they had nothing to worry about.
The main doors to the hall opened, two finely dressed Kets in ornate uniform stepped in to stand either side of the door. “Heralds. Meaning we are honored with someone really important from the Elect.“ Hisses Besai. Now stood in the doorway, was the figure of a tallish lean individual. Well dressed and to some instantly recognisable as a “Council Edict elect.“ It was Colfra trying to show that Besai was not the only one to know who was who. “One of the most senior of the Akademy, there are only four of them. Their word is absolute.”
