“The weather is too severe. There is no way we can use that device at the moment? Most of the rock face is under snow. The signal repeater won’t penetrate that. Which means we have to wait until it clears OR think of something else.“ Serenia was annoyed. Feeling at odds and not being able to do much about it? A stupid position to be in and yet? This happened. It was not the first time that patience had to be the order of the day and the hope the Kets were OK?

Corky was more optimistic? From what he knew of Claria and some of the other Kets? He felt that they should be given a little more credit than some were giving them, or giving up on them. They also had Van Ea wtih them? No matter how much, he disliked the Jogarth, she was known to be pretty resillient AND resourceful. NOT one to give up, at the first obstacle she came across? Edram? He stirred, rubbed his eyes, came to? The sight of Zarac?

Then he saw Sevenea, crying but elated to see, that he was awake and back to normal. Hmm, not quite. The Nabiris that Zarac had given him, had certainly stopped the actions, of the other drug, that was being rapidly flushed, from his system. A need to use the cleanser facilities. He got up darted past them and reappeared a little while later. “So how are you feeling?“ He was puzzled as to their concerns. More interested in who Zarc was.

“Gather your things together, we’re leaving. Make sure your suits are working properly, the weather outside has got much, much worse. than when you became trapped. Not to state the obvious, but I am sure you will remember now, the seasons on Onica can change, VERY quickly, sometimes for the worst.“ Sevenia had received a coms signal from the main control centre. Kimsin relayed the news to her that the Kets were being rescued and would be returned to them shortly.

Who was rescuing them Kimsin was NOT at liberty to disclose. The instructions had come from La Toyah and were regarded as, on a ‘need to know basis.‘ She passed the message onto Corky and those Kets working with them. We’re to retire to the Knurlings and wait for them. Edram had gone from being semi comatosed to irritatingly bouncy. Van Ea knew all too well what was causing him to be so energetic as she moved close to Zarac. “Nabiris?“

“Raw extract, not sure if it would work but from my youth and using it as a stimulant, thought it might repair the damage caused by that other drug. It reconnected the missing links and hopefully once the initial stimulant effects wear off, he’ll be back to normal. Of course he will be back where he can get proper treatment for his problem.” “No thanks to that silly Ket, giving him HER drugs!“ Zarac felt sorry for Sevenea, he had witnessed her tears and they were, he reasoned, quite genuine. He had taken her to one side to console her. “We all make mistakes!“ Van Ea, eavesdropping on the conversation, shook her head. “My people can’t afford to make mistakes, that costs lives.“ Jogarth?! Ah yes Zarac knew of that race. Who was it he had encountered in his youth? With friends? Purely by accident. Isabellani, Van Ea’s mother! He had remembered the story passed around about how she had aggravated the Grovok to the point where it had been tempted to eat her, or so the rumor had been circulated!

The Grovok was a peaceful creature. Isabellani obviously had qualities that Van Ea inherited. Intolerance. Despising, others weaknesses. “You know, you can learn an lot from making the odd mistake. Like NOT making the same mistake again. How can you know that if you don’t make the mistake in the first place?”

“By letting others make the mistakes, take the consequences and YOU learning from them.“ Van Ea grinned. “Experimenting on them, torturing them? I suppose makes it alright does it?“ Van Ea scowled. Zarac had touched on a nerve! Why did Zarac know so much about them. She decided to say nothing else and moved to talk to Bjoi. Claria had joined Zarac.

“Thankyou, For coming to our rescue.“ Zarc smiled. “You surprised me when I arrived to see you all so organised and in control, albeit unsure of your situation. That takes leadership and leadership isn’t just about YOU being their leader, it’s about the TEAM. TEAMWORK! However much you may feel events were your fault, just remember, don’t dwell on the negative merits, turn them to positive ones and what you have learned from what has happened?

I am sure you will NOT forget this course of events! Remember that next time you are in a similar situation.“ Claria nodded. “Then see! You have learned something and that counts for a lot, because of the actual experience. Nothing counts more than experience itself.“ He was stopping them all. The temperature since you were last outside, has dropped substantially. Meije 12.(On Earth, about MINUS 15 degrees!) BE careful where you walk. There is a risk of ice hidden by the snow.

A Transporter will pick you up within parsecs of us exiting the cavern.“ La Toyah had received the signal from Zarc, he had only been able to send it, when he was close to the exit. They all sipped at the fluids given to them by Zarc that warmed their stomachs. Finishing it, discarding the small vials safely in a container provided by Zarc.

Stepping into the vast cavern they could see daylight. The entrance feet from where they were and the hum of a transporter? A welcoming sound! Moving out Zarc waited as they all were now out in the open, next to the transporter. Claria turned to say thank you, Zarc had vanished!
