Princess Heliera, had the button, in the palm of her hand. Seeing it glow? She moved to where it turned green? Surely Hoki, must be within feet of her? Sure enough seconds later Hoki appeared . “What kept you.“ She grinned, as Heliera took her hand then led her into an adjacent room, inside were several of the other Kets including Colfra and Ornatha who looked at them? Surprised, to see this strange small figure, holding Heliera’s hand, like some Ketlevling (infant) but with wings.
It was then Hoki’s wings started to flap as she stared at Heliera. “I told you I will be in trouble if I am caught here.“ Her expression had changed, she seemed vexed. “How do I know, they, will not reveal my secret?“ She was clearly upset. “Hoki . I have learned something from the Priestess at the temple. You don’t need to skulk in the shadows or to sneak around.“ It took some convincing, until finally Hoki accepted her word she would not be thrown out. I wanted you to meet some of my fellow Kets, my friends, my family.“
She smiled as the others still somewhat puzzled made themselves known to her. “You’re my guest. I am allowed to have guests.“ Ok so other Kets maybe and a liberal interpretation of the truth or the facts as were was probably THE TRUTH of the situation. Let’s put it this way, they were not going to be too quick, in putting it to the test, where some of the elders or the council were concerned. But then they seldom visited.
The other Kets were now fascinated to learn more about Hoki and her people from the ‘Far Away Lands’. Off limits to them, but to find out what was there and more was not just to sate their curiosity it was as much about helping Hoki to accept them. Hoki could, as we say. ‘Talk the hind legs off a donkey.’ She was as interested, as curious, to know, more about where they were from, their worlds and more. Which meant, time went QUICKLY.
A screen illuminated and the face of La Toyah with a message for the Kets. Their presence was required in the ‘Great Hall’ A meal and the opportunity for the Akademy Elite to make announcements. The meal was well under way, with Hoki munching at some fruit, when one of the elders moved towards them. An ‘Elder’ Ket called Aifen. He looked down the table to see Hoki, well almost see her, given her size. He stared, his eyebrows arched, not believing what he was seeing. It was at that moment that Arianne saw Aifen.
