Van Ea was still putting pressure on Claria, since her mother’s death, she felt she had to prove she could step into her shoes! “So HOW much experience have you as a ‘leader’? Subjugation and the control of prisoners? Dispensing punishment and strategy, along with tactical training?” Poor Claria was lost for words, not that she could, in the ranting from Van Ea have gotten a word in anyway! Corky seeing her compromised, headed over to her. She breathed a sigh of relief. Her team, were about to give Van Ea, a few words of their own, most to tell her to shut up.

He smiled at her, taking her hand to pull her over, to him; turning her to face them. “Claria IS your team LEADER. Make NO mistake, have ANY misgivings, or other ideas.“ He looked at them, Van Ea especially. He knew too well, she would have to be constantly pushing herself, testing herself, to prove herself. He was sorry for her in a way, to have so much aggression, forced on her, thanks to recent events.
Yet she was not, the first, nor the last Ket, he had come across in battle. Ill equipped in life skills, let alone invaluable other educational, tactical and physical necessities, leading forces into battle. Oh yes, the ones he had met, had been seized as prisoners? Corky had taken some of them, smacked their backsides and sent them back home.
“I am going to take Claria to one side and give her, her TEAM CHALLENGE, which is a JOINT TEAM venture. THE FIRST ONE. Where the other OPPOSING, teams are concerned, THEY are the ones, who should, do all they can, to stop you, achieving your objectives. To WIN. But that is down to TEAMWORK!

Now the purpose of this, is to test your teams abilities, to WORK TOGETHER and, your skills, as a TEAM LEADER, to make sure, they do just that. BUT I want to make it clear, its a challenge, NOT a CURSE! “

There’s ALWAYS someone, or some, who think they can be better than you! Often Claria, when they’re put to the test they’re NOT! Its all lip! As for Van Ea.“ He chatted to her as she nodded, listening, feeling a lot more confident! “Always make sure you understand your teams INDIVIDUAL capabilities! Gather as much intel on your opponents and work out as a TEAM their TEAMS weaknesses, then play on them!
This information isn’t something you can have handed to you on a plate or happens overnight! Where your team is concerned, you’ll notice things they’re good at, mentally, physically. Some, they’re really terrible at. DON’T ever fall into the trap, of thinking you can CHANGE them, or TRANSFORM them, or some miracle is going to happen overnight! Where they suddenly become scientific or tactical geniuses! The truth is, if they’re not cut out for it, they’re NOT going to change or be different, no matter how hard you try!
Whilst you’re wasting time trying, you’re wasting valuable time on USING the SKILLS they have! Always remember. ADAPT, IMPROVISE, OVERCOME! As a leader its NOT a case of being LIKED or respected, just because you have the title of TEAM LEADER.You have to work hard, to EARN their respect, but in return, they also have to work hard to expect and earn, YOUR respect! Its a two way street! Dictators may have control, but there are always sacrifices, that have to be made and soon or later, sacrificial lambs turn on the butcher! Be FAIR, be JUST, be seen to be a good leader and HONEST! Treat them, however hard, EQUALLY!“
