The entrance that Zarac or Zarc as his friends called him, chose to enter, was covered in what we would call, Ivy, covered with snow. Which Zarc swept aside cursing. Eventually he had cleared the entrance, enough for him to ease himself through and into the cavern beyond. That was quite large. Raising his head, he sniffed the air. The air conditioning system could not vent to the outside, the systems had detected there were problems, due as we know to the severe weather conditions.

Thus the air, was vented into the remaining tunnels. Where the Kets were. Those that were awake, had used the cleanser units. They were clean and refreshed. Something that was much appreciated. Given the state of the Kets, from the events earlier. Kelawi had tried to wake Edram, roused he still seemed very disorientated. Something was wrong but they didn’t have medical support to call on. Panic. Claria tried to keep everyone calm, aided by Ameryst and Dario.

Delise was removing panels and attempting to get the transmitter equipment working. Struggling. Most of the gear was in pretty good shape considering how old it must be BUT some had corroded, worn with time. Unuseable. However Delise was very resourceful as a Ket. Not one to give up easily. A flicker of life within the unit. Some response. In the main control centre, the transmission however brief had been picked up. Zarc was within the cave tunnel and heading towards the Kets.

La Toyah had been monitoring the control centre. Incoming signals told her exactly where to locate the Kets. Zarc received the data transmission from La Toyah within parsecs of her receiving it. Delise had lost the signal and the ability to transmit any further. There was a flash and she was thrown back towards the other Kets, knocking several of them over like pins in a bowling alley.

It was comforting to Zarc to know that he had been right. His instincts on where he was likely to find the Kets, given the data now? He was certainly pleased. Not far now. The Kets in the chamber were picking themselves up. “Thankyou Delise.” Mutters Bjoi. Lilia and Doona were giggling, joined by the other Kets, including those who had been sent flying. They could see the funny side of it, even if, Delise looked dazed.

“Well I do hope you realise that we have NO chance now of any more coms from here.“ Servenea had been trying to keep Edram’s attention. He was still as most of them had to agree, a bit vague and seeming out of it. Though thankfully he was a lot more awake, well of sorts. If you had been Edram? He was not having a very good time of things. He felt disorientated and confused. Also the sound in his ears was distorted, muffled. Most unpleasant.

Mawaena was worried, very much so where Edram was concerned. He was starting to go a very funny color. The kind of color that precipitates something really not good happening. It happened. He toppled forward and stumbled dropping to the floor, his body twitching. His body covered in fur? Claria knew what was happening. His body had been compromised and was still fighting whatever was happening to him. His muscles tightened, another series of twitches as he lost the fur, well most of it. He, was no longer conscious.

“Turn him on his side and keep his air way clear.“ Dario and Orini moved Edram, gently placing him onto his side as Mawaena dropped to her knees beside him to listen. Claria had her head against him. Telling the other Kets to shush? The other Kets went quiet. “Heart us a little irregular, won't be winning any awards for the beat! But it’s good and strong.“

“We will have to keep someone with him and pray, he comes out of this OK.” Kelawi had been reading the details on the drug that Servenea had given to Edram, she let out a howl. They contain Inedra complex 4 inhibitors. They dampen the neural pathways and will be the reason Edram is having problems. She looked at the other Kets who were glaring at Sevenea. “In simple terms, your body has a series of electrical pathways? This slows them down, makes your species more relaxed.

IN Edrams body, they’re doing a lot more. in not just slowing the signals along those pathways to the brain and his neural functions BUT also disrupting the receptors that receive and transmit those important signals, to tell the body what to do next.“ “Will he die?“ “I don’t know. What I do know is we need to get him some urgent help and soon or he may suffer long term with the damage caused, being more permanent.“

Zarac was not far from the Kets, he could hear their voices? Talking? Heated conversation, loud angry voices. As he walked into the chamber they looked up in shock. This huge figure looking at them? Edram moaned then started to shake, violently. “You’ve nothing to be afraid of. I’ve been sent to help you get out of here?“ Zarac moved close to Edram, sniffed him. Claria was quick to tell him what had happened? “Stay HERE all of you.“

Zarac got up and left them. A tunnel running off from theirs? Parsecs later he returned. Taking the plant he took a container and ground the roots of the plant adding some water to it. He moved over to Edram telling Claria and Mawaena to hold him face up as he dribbled the water across his lips Edram started to stir. His tongue licked at his lips, taking the water in. Several sips later, they let him rest against Mawaena. “It should work fairly quickly, IF, it is going to work, at all?“ Sevenea started to cry.
