The Gaisek had smiled. You see the thing with modern things, is that people discard the old things, for new things? Sooner or later the old things, how they work, used to work? That information, is lost or forgotten. No ordinary crystal. When the Gaisek had realized Uanita had found it, it was delighted. A major problem solved. All it needed was for her to deliver it to the right place at the right time. It would act as a data catalyst. Forming a very powerful link for the Gaisek between it and the main system core.
The Gaisek had initiated the first part of its audacious plan. It would be Nabishi one of the Elder Kets who first started to notice something very strange happening with the control systems, that were monitoring and collecting data from the Strat trials. She, with several others, simply monitored incoming data. Anything like cheating by any of the Kets and they would automatically know.
Likewise of course, if there was a break down in the systems or? The Gaisek had been subtle. His cyber attack was well thought out, carefully put into play. By the time they had realized what was happening it was too late. Poor Nabishi panicked. What they were seeing matched the alarm bells ringing in their heads.! A partial system take over, by something or someone in progress. Almost complete. Attempts to shut that section of the system down, put the Kets offline?
To no avail, whatever was doing this. Prevented any commands from them being accepted by the Strat control systems. Nabishi had NEVER seen anything so quick to take over a system and snatch control like this. It seemed determined to lock her and the others out completely. Corky, not long after the panic had started, walked in to the main control area. What he saw, was the whole place in an uproar! As a lot of the Elder Kets, NORMALLY well reserved and in control Kets.
Panicking on a scale he had not been witnessed to for some time. Corky had stood watching, the reactions, the emotions, the apprehension and the inability on the part of some to cope under pressure! WHAT the heck had they learned. Elder Kets should be a lot more efficient and in control of their own emotives let alone the situation that had occurred. Whatever it was and at that moment Corky was not entirely sure. He tried hard to find out and met a wall of resistance.
Protecting Nabishi. Their own ego’s. ‘We can sort this we don’t need YOUR help’, kind of springs to mind. It was more than apparent that Corky’s presence was an inconvenience to them. THEY KNEW how to, they were sure of it, didn’t need his advice on HOW they were going to bring the systems back online again, as Corky now more than aware of what the heck had happened. Shook his head! He was staring at the screens, unsure what had his attention. Vaguely familiar?
What was it. The whole game was now sealed off. External access it would appear was locked out. NOTHING the Elder Kets in the control room did, did anything at all other than waste their energies and increase their frustrations, their fury. The Strat Kets were locked into it, tied into it; unable to break free. They watched as their visuals changed, they saw Uanita in realform, remove the crystal from her pocket and walk towards a small platform.
On the platform rising up from the floor, was a round shape resembling a pedestal. Uanita moved towards it, as it opened up and from within, the huge disc shape on the floor, this arm. with the hand at the top of it appeared. The arm with the hand moved up to stop, the fingers moved to open out. She moved closer, placing the crystal into the palm of the hand. Light flared within the chamber, the fingers gripped the crystal and held it high amidst the whole area, awash with light. Stepping back, she vanishes.
Across the crystal, energy flares; releasing a spectrum of colors that dance within the chamber. Suddenly the light dies back and only the crystal is illuminated. Its bright white light, strong enough, to blind those looking on! Eyes divert from it, return as the picture changes. A game scenario. But WHAT. Those in the control room too had been forced almost hypnotically, to watch the entire proceedings with Uanita and that crystal!
Yet the Kets who were now ALL linked to each other, made to participate as ONE in the ‘Game’ found themselves transported to another place. The sudden transfer from where they had been to where they were now, stood together looking at each other? You have to remember that there were 60 of them in total! Suddenly as though rejected. 45 of them vanished. Only 15 of them remained.
The other Kets were not dead, they were an audience to what was now clearly visible to them within their sub consciousness. The remaining Kets in realform looked ridiculous. It might even have been a valid argument as to whether they were 3Dimensional or 2. Most felt they were 2. Almost cartoon characters of themselves?! As for the 15 of them?
They heard a noise. It came from a pathway to the left of them, a semi covered by what we would call, trees, pathway. The sound of a distinct growl. Out of the shadows. “Arisieus and the Hiexo “ It was huge, absolutely, monster of a thing, led by this female, barely wearing anything at all. “She never was one for clothes. “ Narya powers her laser sabre. “Leave this, to me, the thing is from my planets legends.
IN Realt I fought this several times. I know it’s weaknesses.” “What’s she on about? “ Mutters Becci, only having heard part of the conversation. She had been acutely aware of the fact that her gems had NOT responded to any threat. “Narya has already fought Arisieus and the Hiexo in the Stratorium on level 4. We were up in the main area watching her battling it out! Sure did trash them!" Ameryst stared, as Narya braced herself to be joined by some others.
Torvan hissed at her. “It’s well, it’s as if something is tapping into our past!” Edram giggled. “To bring out the monster in us.” Aldrei stared at them, his growl was almost as threatening as had been the Hiexo. “Whatever you do, DON’T think about monsters!” Given the sight of and the SIZE, of the Hiexo. For some, that was difficult.
Serenia had received the message loud and clear. She was now enroute accompanied by some of her guard to secure the control area. Corky had been right. Her thoughts drifted back to the Satellite encounter. Those strange creatures. The recent visit by the Transparent. Now this. She checked her laser. Flicked the charger to maximum as she threw open the hatch to the main control area.
